Looking for Mommy

I am greatly enjoying having a "mommy's girl". I know this will not last forever, and other things will step into first place like Daddy, and friends, and boys, etc. So I am quite happy to be the ultimate distraction right now!

Retreat to Bear Creek Mountain

For our first little family trip away together, we headed up to Bear Creek Mountain in Berks County. A beautiful ski lodge that I recommend to anyone - whether you ski or not! Here are some pics of our time together... View from our room...At night...
Gone swimmin'! This little floatie-swim-boat was lent to us by our good friends the Chiodi's (thanks guys!). Grace really liked it, but took awhile to "warm up" to the idea of the water and being in it. She takes a good 20 minutes to warm up to any new face or setting. She has this poker face - no smiles, no facial expressions, just shifty eyes, taking it all in...

Daddy is regretting he chose to sit next to his daughter, as he spent most of dinner picking up all the toys she threw "overboard" again and again.
Cozied by the big fire!

Happy Valentine's Day!

A biscotti in honor of her Italian heritage...thanks to our supplier - Grandpa
(and it keeps her occupied while we eat our food!)
Me and my love bug..

"Oh mommy dearest...I adore you"
(I'm sure will be the first words she utters..)

Chocolate dipped strawberries compliments of Maggiano's!
A perfect little bite of something sweet to end our lunch...

Next, we headed off to Costco for diapers...how romantic.

Hope you all had a beautiful day!

Grace at 6 Months

Our little Grace is 6 months old - we can't believe it! These days she is weighing 15lbs 7oz, and is 25 1/4 inches tall. According to the charts, she hasn't inherited any tall genes yet, heh heh. She is very close to being able to sit up by herself - she can for a minute, then topples over. No rolling over yet, but she seems to be working on that. Grace is enjoying oatmeal, sweet potatoes & bananas these days. More exciting foods to come in the next few weeks! We can't believe how fast time has flown, so we are trying to savor every minute of it! Here are some recent pictures. Enjoy!
She actually fell asleep with her leg up in the air...do babies do that??Saying "hi!" on Thanksgiving. Gobble Gobble

Getting ready for some yummy baby oatmeal...Her favorite past time....We can't believe how little she was just a few months ago!

Keep in mind, I am wearing a big white fluffy bathrobe - so I'm pretty sure she is laughing at what a large snowball I look like!

Fall Adventures Pt. 2

At the prompting of my sister Janelle, she insisted we take a trip to this funny little shop named Carpertbagger Collectibles that she had been to with her friends while in the mountains. So me, my Mom, Julie, Janelle & Grace piled in the car to head up to Newport, PA in hopes of striking gold. We did! Wow - what a cool store. If you are into vintage/cottage/country furniture & home decor at rock bottom prices - you must visit this place!

God's glorious creation - our scenic drive home.
